Manama, Nov. 5 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received, at Al Sakhir Palace, senior participants in the King Hamad Forum for Justice, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain under His Majesty’s patronage.

His Majesty the King welcomed the guests of the Kingdom and expressed appreciation for their presence and participation in this important event.

His Majesty then delivered the following address:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,

Your Excellencies,

It is a great pleasure to welcome this distinguished international gathering of pioneers in the fields of legal and judicial thought, on the occasion of the King Hamad Forum for Justice. The objectives of this forum align with the aspirations of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its ongoing efforts to uphold the principles of truth, justice, and freedom in our world – values of humanity that we regard as the very essence of our beliefs and endeavors, aimed at promoting brotherhood and coexistence among all peoples of the earth.

We take this opportunity to express our pride in the inauguration of the “Bahrain International Commercial Court”, which we consider a historic step in the development of our judicial system. This initiative reflects our nation’s conviction in the importance of openness and building bridges of cooperation, as well as its constant commitment to strengthening its position as an international hub for resolving cross-border commercial disputes.

We are confident that this specialized court – as an effective mechanism for resolving commercial disputes – will play its full role in supporting the global business community through a judiciary that speaks the language of the parties involved, understands their needs, and works to reinforce the rule of law while upholding independent and impartial justice. In doing so, it will contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and to supporting the stability and prosperity of international trade. For in our view, legal security is the umbrella under which modern markets grow with confidence and sustainability, safeguarding the rights, freedoms, and interests of individuals and institutions alike.

On this occasion, we also commend the constructive cooperation with the Republic of Singapore, a friendly nation and a pioneer in advanced international commercial courts. Its distinguished experience has served as an inspiration and foundation for the exchange of expertise in establishing the “Bahrain International Commercial Court”.

There is no doubt that this cooperation stands as clear evidence of the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries, and stems from Bahrain’s firm desire to benefit from successful experiences that enhance its international competitiveness, in harmony with its national vision and cultural identity.

In conclusion, we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who contributed to the establishment of this court, reaffirming that Bahrain remains committed to comprehensive development in step with the demands of our era, thereby strengthening its role as an international center dedicated to serving justice and the rule of law.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants expressed their gratitude to His Majesty the King for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, and for the Kingdom’s hosting of the King Hamad Forum for Justice with distinguished organisation and preparation.

They commended the Kingdom’s progress and comprehensive achievements under His Majesty’s leadership, as well as its ongoing development across all sectors. The participants also highlighted Bahrain’s values of tolerance and coexistence, made possible by His Majesty’s wise vision, and wished the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
