Legal experts spotlight Bahrain’s growing role in international commercial dispute resolution

Manama, Nov. 6 (BNA): International legal experts speaking at the King Hamad Forum for Justice commended Bahrain’s emerging role as a reliable venue for commercial dispute resolution, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to neutral processes and modern arbitration frameworks. They noted that Bahrain’s efforts are contributing to a more trusted legal environment for cross-border investment and commercial activity.

Judge Pinky Anand, of the Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC) and Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, highlighted Bahrain’s reputation for constructive engagement.

“Bahrain itself is symbolic of immense peace, prosperity and happiness,” she said. “When nations collaborate on arbitration and dispute resolution, it naturally extends to dialogue, human rights and development.”

Speaking on Bahrain–India ties, Anand noted that “justice built on trust creates an environment where investment and development can thrive. Every economic activity may lead to disputes, but resolving them fairly sustains progress.”

Advocate Balendu Shekhar, Standing Counsel for the Central Government of India at the Delhi High Court, described Bahrain as an emerging destination for neutral arbitration.

“The quality of discussion and interaction here is highly commendable,” he said. “Bahrain will become a most desirable place for resolving commercial disputes because of its neutrality and openness.”

Samrat Pasriccha, Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, praised Bahrain’s innovative legal framework.

“What Bahrain is doing is transformative,” he said. “By linking the BICC with the Singapore International Commercial Court, Bahrain is showing confidence in the quality and fairness of its awards.”

The forum gathered legal professionals, jurists and policymakers from around the world to exchange insights on neutrality, judicial cooperation and the advancement of global justice.
